PNA-IN PROUDLY PRESENTS KAYLEE ANN THOMPSONRECIPIENT OF ITS’

2019 BSN SCHOLARSHIP/EDUCATION GRANT

Before beginning her nursing program, Kaylee was invited by the Gaviola family to participate in the free PNA-IN health screenings at the International Festival in November 2016. About an hour into the day, she felt a strong passion for promoting health in the community. Many of the patients she assisted in screening that day were eager to learn more about how to better their health but they said that no one had really ever taught them about it before.

BRIANA GABRIELLE “GABBY” MARAMBA

Gabby is a senior nursing student at Ball State University (BSU) in Muncie, Indiana. She will graduate in the Spring of 2019 as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing major with a minor in Psychology of Human Development with a focus in infants and children.  Upon graduation she plans to pursue a career in pediatric or neonatal nursing.  In the future, she intends to obtain a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.

PNA-IN is proud to congratulate Pressy Freeman, PNA-IN-in Board Member and Chair of Scholarship Committee on her prestigious award on her retirement as  “Lecturer Honorata of Nursing”  from Ball State University’  (BSU) as endorsed  by the Director of the School of Nursing, College Dean, and Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and the BSU Board of Trustees effective July 1, 2019!

PNA Indiana Free Health and Wellness Screening

PNA-Indiana’s advocacy is the Promotion of Health and Wellness in the community.  Once again, we held a free health and wellness promotion & screening program at the Asian American of Indiana (AAI) Festival on June 23, 2019 held at the Indiana State Museum in downtown Indianapolis from 12 noon to 5:00 pm. 

2019 PNA-IN Spring Conference

On Friday April 12, 2019, Dr. Helmy demonstated his expertise as he spoke on "Osteoporosis: A foe we have a bone to pick with." He wowed the participants while they listened intently and enlightened them about the "Makers and Breakers pf our bones", anatomy and physiology, the role of estrogen, calcium and vitamin D3 on bone health, typical bone fracture sites, etc. He also discussed current treatments.

2019 PNAA NCR Leadership Awardee - Redd Knotts, RN, BSN

PNA-IN is proud to announce Redd Agbulos Knotts as its’ Leadership Awardee at the 2019 PNAA NCR Conference in Columbus, Ohio. Redd was born in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Nursing, Manila, Philippines in 1973. She worked at the UST Private Division for 2 years and came to the USA in 1975.

“What to expect: Knee and Hip Pain leading to Replacement “was the topic of our PNA-IN Fall Educational Conference held last October 19, 2018 at the Community Hospital North ‘s Professional Building Multi Service Classroom. The speaker was Divina Reyes, FNP, BC of IU Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Methodist Hospital at Indiana University Health.

PNA Indiana partnered with Nationalities Council of Indiana at the International Festival to promote our advocacy:  Promotion of HealthCare and Wellness in the community through education and prevention of diseases.
