The Philippine Nurses Association of Indiana, Inc. (PNA-IN) is a non-profit organization established in 1999. PNA Indiana mission is to unify Filipino American nurses, promote professional growth provide health information and educational services to the community. PNA Indiana has established Scholarship program, as part of our commitment to the promotion of professional growth of our members and to provide educational services to the community. PNA-IN members as well as their family and friends are eligible to apply for the PNA-IN Scholarship Program.

 

The PNA-IN Scholarship Program offers three scholarship opportunities:

1. Scholarship grant towards the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree (AD).

2. Scholarship grant towards the completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN), Doctorate in Nursing (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD).

3. Scholarship grant for Certification or Recertification in a nursing specialty.

 

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENT

 

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing

                               

1. Junior and senior year in nursing curriculum of an accredited nursing program

2. Maintain a grade point average of (GPA) of 3.0 or above with copy pf official transcript of record 

3. Submit a letter of recommendation from Nursing faculty of  current school of nursing 

4. Submit a letter of recommendation from current PNA-IN member

5. Must submit a letter describing applicant career goals in nursing, projected contribution to PNA-IN as a continued member for three years ( strongly encourage to be a PNA-IN member for three  years)

 

Document Checklist

2. Letter of recommendation from current school of nursing faculty

3. Letter of recommendation from current PNA-IN member 

4. Letter describing applicant career goals in nursing, projected contribution to PNA-IN 

5. Completed PNA-IN Scholarship Application Form

 

Master Degree in Nursing (MSN), Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PHD)

 

1. Valid RN license in the state of Indiana 

2. Current member of PNA-IN for a period of one year prior to application

3. Remain active member of PNA-IN for a minimum of Three Years after completion 

4. Submit letter of acceptance from accredited school

5. Maintain grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above 

6. Submit letter describing career goals in nursing and projected contributions to PNA-IN 

7. Submit current resume’ or curriculum vitae

Certification or Recertification examination in a nursing Specialty

1. Valid RN license in the State of Indiana 

2. Remain an active member of PNA-IN for the duration of certification period 

3. Practicing in the area of nursing specialty 

4. Submit a copy of recertification application from the certifying board 

5. Submit a letter describing career goals in nursing and projected contributions to PNA-IN

6. Submit current resume’ or curriculum vitae

General Consideration for Scholarship Program

 

1. All applicants must submit completed PNA-IN Scholarship Form with the required supporting    Document to PNA-IN P.O Box 17131 Indianapolis, Indiana 46217-0131

2. Completed PNA-IN Form and required supporting document be received by PNA-In  Scholarship Committee on:

   1. AD,BSN,MD,DNP and PHD March 31st for the academic year

   2. Certification and Recertification four weeks prior to certification / recertification examination or date of renewal

3. Incomplete application forms and supporting documents received after the deadline will not be processed. Completed forms and supporting documents received after March 31st will be processed for the following year. Failure of applicant to comply within the given time frame will automatically result in the rejection of the application .Applicant will be notified of incomplete application

4. PNA-IN will grant the following scholarship

   1. AD/BSN scholarship program: $500.00 per academic year

   2. MS DNP,PHD scholarship program: $500.00 per academic year

   3. Certification/Recertification Scholarship Program : Two scholarship program grants $250:00 each per PNA-IN fiscal year

5. Scholarship grant is awarded during the Spring Induction of that academic year or during the Christmas Gathering in December. Awardee must be present to accept the award. If awardee is not present, award will be given the next time it is scheduled 

6. Applicant for Certification and Recertification Scholarship Program can only be awarded twice in a membership lifetime.
