
PNA-IN EDUCATIONAL GRANT PROGRAM
The Philippine Nurses Association of Indiana, Inc. (PNA-IN) is a non-profit organization established in 1999. PNA-IN’s mission is to unify Filipino American nurses, promote professional growth, and provide health information and educational services to the community. As part of our commitment to the promotion of professional growth of our members and to provide educational services to the community, PNA-IN has established an Educational Grant Program. All PNA-IN members as well as their family and friends are eligible to apply for the PNA-IN Educational Grant Program.
The PNA-IN Educational Grant Program offers three educational opportunities:
An educational grant towards the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree (AD).
An educational grant towards the completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN), Doctorate in Nursing (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD).
An educational grant for a Certification or Recertification in a nursing specialty.
Educational Grant Eligibility Criteria and Requirements
A. AD, BSN, DNP, or PhD:
1. Deadline for submission of the application and supporting documents is on March 31st for the academic year.
2. Incomplete application forms and supporting documents received after the deadline will not be processed. Completed forms and supporting documents received after March 31st will be processed for the following year.
3. If an applicant has received an educational grant from another agency, such applicant is still eligible to apply for a PNA-IN educational grant.
4. An AD and BSN applicant must be in Junior or Senior year in the nursing curriculum.
5. Recommend to maintain PNA-IN membership for a minimum of two (2) years.
6. If the educational grant is approved, PNA-IN may issue a check in the school's name, check sent directly to the school and/or given to the educational grant awardee.
7. An educational grant is awarded during the Spring Induction of that academic year or during the Christmas Gathering in December. The awardee must be present to accept the award. If the awardee is not present, award will be given the next time it is scheduled (Spring Induction or Christmas Gathering).
B. Certification or Recertification
1. Must be a current PNA-IN member for a period of two (2) years prior to application.
2. Must be practicing in the area of nursing specialty for a minimum of two years (2) years.
3. Must submit a current CV/resume.
4. Recommended to maintain PNA-IN membership for a minimum of two (2) years.
5. The deadline for submission of documents is four (4) weeks prior to the exam or date of renewal.
C. Document Checklist
1. Completed PNA-IN Educational Grant Application Form.
2. Current CV/Resume for AD, BSN, MSN, DNP, PhD, Certification/Recertification.
3. Current official transcript of records for AD, BSN, MSN, DNP, or PhD.
4. A minimum of 150-word essay on nursing goals and its impact on PNA-IN.
